Privacy Policy

What we collect

Account information. When you create an account, we store your email address and, if you sign up with email, a display name you choose. If you sign in with Google or GitHub, we receive the name and email associated with that account.

Your progress. What you have studied and completed is stored so your progress follows you across devices. You can use the site without an account; that progress is kept only in your browser until you sign in.

Product analytics. To understand how the product is used, we record events such as which topics you open, when you run or submit code, and how long your visits last, along with your device type, approximate referrer, and how you found the site. This includes the code you write: at key moments (when you run, submit, or request feedback on a solution) we store a snapshot of your code, and if you ask the AI tutor a question we store the length of your question and a short excerpt.

We do not run ads, and we do not sell your data. We do not use third-party advertising trackers.

Your code runs in your browser

Code execution on LearningTo happens locally in your browser. Running your solution does not upload it anywhere. Your code is only sent to our servers when you explicitly use the AI feedback features described below.

AI-powered feedback

When you request AI feedback, hints, or explanations, the relevant code and exercise text are sent to an AI provider (xAI) through our server so it can generate the response. That content is processed by the provider to produce your feedback. We recommend not pasting secrets, API keys, or personal information into the editor or the tutor chat.

Service providers

We rely on a small number of services to operate the site: Supabase (authentication and database), Vercel (hosting and serverless functions), Cloudflare Turnstile (bot protection on sign-up and sign-in), and xAI (AI feedback). These providers process data only on our behalf as needed to run the product.

Who can see analytics data

Analytics and code snapshots are visible only to the site operator through a private, access-controlled dashboard. They are used to improve the product, not to profile you for marketing. We never publish individual usage data.

Email and newsletters

We send emails needed to run your account, such as an address confirmation when you sign up. Beyond that, we only send marketing email, such as a newsletter, if you explicitly opted in when creating your account. Every marketing email identifies us and includes a one-click way to unsubscribe.

Data retention and deletion

Accounts created with an email address that is never verified are automatically deleted after 7 days. Your progress and account data are retained while your account is active. You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time using the contact below, and we will remove it.

Children's privacy

LearningTo is intended for people preparing for technical interviews and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update this page and the effective date below, and material changes will be announced in the product. If we ever want to use data in a way this policy does not currently describe (for example, sharing data with advertising partners), we will update this policy and seek any consent required before doing so.
